Why Forgive…. by Calleen Wilder

I wanted to quickly share this quote. I think it’s very simply stated and to-the-point.  And while I realize that forgiveness is a process, I also realize that it’s absolutely necessary regardless of whatever it was that happened.  In truth, it really is the only thing you can do in order to pull back your power and release the toxicity of the entire situation.

Still I realize it’s hard to forgive sometimes.  I’m pretty well-practiced in the art of dealing with meanies and finding a way to get over it.  As such, I’ve come to understand that when you nurse old wounds you only hurt yourself.  The other person doesn’t feel your pain or hear your thoughts.  Plus, they could likely care less.   They’re likely off doing their merry little thing all while you’re sitting back all sad, betrayed, and/or angry.  Likely still grieving, seething, or steaming.

In other words, you’re the only one paying for what they did.  Crazy wrong, right?  So release it.  It’s how you win.  It’s how you get on with things.

If you can’t find a way to get over it on your own, ask your guides/angels to help you release it.  They will.  You may have to convince them by asking a time or two, but if you’re really ready to let go of the “I want to be right” thing, ask a few times and they’ll take it away.  Like it never happened.

That doesn’t mean you have to break bread with the fool who did it.  It only means you refuse to allow it to affect you anymore.  It frees up your heart, your emotions, and your time.  So it’s definitely worth it to you… not them… you.
